“Personal Boundaries: Where Do You Draw the Line?”

by Kathy Jackson

The last few weeks we have been republishing some articles from past issues
of Concealed Carry Magazine to give everyone a taste of what they are
missing if they aren’t a subscriber to the United States Concealed Carry
Association. This week’s article is from the Web Only Articles. We have way
too much great info to squeeze into the issues of Concealed Carry Magazine,
so we publish the additional articles on the web. New articles are added
every week.

Listed below are some conditions under which I intend to fight back even if
I don’t think I can win.

I have made this list for myself because I understand that the natural thing
to do, when something bad happens, is to deny that it is happening: “This
can’t be happening to me!”

Even if you get past that thought (a lot of victims never do), the other
natural tendency is to tell yourself that if you wait, if you do what the
other person says, things will get better. The situation will work itself
out. All you have to do is cooperate. The attacker will take your wallet,
your car keys, whatever, and leave you alone. Just wait, do what he says,
and everything will be okay. That’s what most people who are attacked tell
themselves — and in most cases, that is exactly what people should do. Even
if you are armed, why kill someone if you don’t have to? It’s only stuff!

But while waiting for an opening and cooperating with the attacker might be
the best survival strategy in many situations, there are a few very specific
situations where waiting and cooperating are the worst things the victim can
possibly do.

A woman forced into a car by an attacker, for instance, has a 95% or higher
chance of getting killed if she complies. Even if it seems highly likely the
attacker will kill her right there if she doesn’t get in the car, the fact
is that right at that moment, the odds are the very best they will ever be
for her. They might be lousy odds, but they aren’t going to get any better.
So I have decided, in advance, that if I’m ever in that situation, that’s
when and where I will fight back no matter what my frozen brain and
in-denial guts are telling me about my odds.

Similarly, a man forced into a back room on his knees, with his back to the
attacker, has just been put into the execution position. Most of the time,
when someone is forced into this position, what comes next is a bullet in
the back of the skull. Once you are on your knees, you don’t have any more
choices left, even if do you suddenly realize what is about to happen. If
you’re going to save your own life in such a situation, you have to make the
choice to fight back before you’re on your knees.

The purpose of analyzing this stuff beforehand is to make sure that even my
frozen brain and my in-denial guts cannot lull me into cooperating if I am
ever in one of the extreme places where a victim really needs to fight if
she is going to survive. Because I’ve thought about this stuff in advance,
if something like it ever happens, even my frozen brain will have a definite
decision point.

Some of my personal boundaries are:

* I will not go anywhere at gunpoint. If the bad guy wants me to go
somewhere else, it’s because he will be able to do something to me there
that he is unwilling or unable to do to me right here, right now. Therefore
no matter how bad the tactical situation seems right here and now, right
here and now is the absolute best chance to fight back I will ever have and
I intend to use it.

* I will not be tied up. If the bad guy wants to tie me up, it is because he
wants to do things to me that I would be able to prevent if I were not tied
up. Therefore, I will resist while I am still able to do so.

* I will not kneel. No one is going to execute me. If I die, I’ll die
fighting.

* If someone tries to take one of my children, I will fight even at the risk
of my child being killed in the resultant firefight. I plan this not because
I have positive assurance that I would be successful, but because I would
not be able to live with myself if I simply “allowed” my child to be taken,
brutalized, and his body perhaps never found. I’d rather watch him die in
front of me. (Yes, that’s harsh … but given those two options and only
those two, which would you choose?)

My point is not that your boundaries should be the same as mine. It is
simply that even though you can wait until the very last moment to make the
final decision about fighting back, you should have certain things already
set into your decision-making machinery beforehand. If you don’t, and if you
are ever attacked, you may not have enough time to do anything but stand
there with your brain frozen solid while your attacker takes all your
choices away.

Why I Admire You Barack Obama

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Why I admire you, Barack Obama.

You are just too good. You are more than I ever hoped for. Your ability to do good so exceeds my expectations, I am humbled. I know there are quite a few people out there who feel the same. And fewer every day. They have seen all that has been started, or stopped, in these first one-hundred plus days, and say “that’s not the America I grew up in”, or I didn’t vote for THAT?

Well, neither did I, but I am so pleased that somebody did.

Americans who never thought about it, now understand fascism, and see it for what it really is. Socialism is the same evil it always was, but now it has a face to go with it. A narcissistic face, with head tilted back, and a look-up-my-nostrils-you-peasants-as-I-look-at-my-telepromter-and-over-your-heads gaze. We have come to know and understand communism, as we did in the fifties. It is here. All around us, thanks to you. With government stealing our banks, our auto companies, and the potential to rip countless other businesses, our economy, our sovereignty, our dignity and our way of life right from under our noses. Illegally giving the spoils to “chosen” foreign governments, or thuggish, crime-laden “protection”  organizations, or to the unions in exchange for their fealty and patronage.

I love what you are doing, Barry Soetoro. There were countless millions who never before feared their government, but tolerated its incompetence, stupidity, and bumbling pomposity, yet truly appreciated its ability to provide military protection. But now we see true terror. Fear, distrust, contempt, even revulsion. It is a very good time to be alive. This is why I love what you’ve accomplished, Barry Soetoro. The sleeping giant has been awakened, and is starting to react. As a people, we have never loved our government, per se. But we have loved our beautiful country, and we have loved our opportunities here in America, defined by life, liberty, happiness, prosperity, and freedom, guarded for us by our Constitution. We have loved our Constitution, which has kept the government at bay. Now that it is being trampled, more so with every passing day, the American public is beginning to see just what it is we could lose, and may have already lost. And America is fighting mad. The populace is openly discussing the return of this country to a place where the Constitution once again reins supreme, not the men and women to whom we temporarily give power over us. Thank you, Barry.

January 20, 2009, first official act: Executive Order 13489. You sealed ALL your records, permanently. Transparency. You’re making this way too easy.

People are professing love for their country in ways not seen for many years. This has been brought on by a fear of the loss of the liberties America provides, to the phony dreams of an NPD-afflicted illegal alien. We have seen the states take up sovereignty issues, and a reaffirmation of states’ rights. This isn’t penny-ante stuff. The states are looking at gun laws, and what happens when guns are manufactured only for in-state consumption. The second amendment is alive and well, despite left wing efforts to scribble a line through it with a big thick crayon, a change which I imagine would have to be initialed by you, Barry, (BS). Populist Grand Juries are popping up in dozens of states, all with the initial purpose of finding out the veiled truth about the pretender President. Then there is the very open dialogue about the “free press”, such as it is. And who really cares about it anymore, other than John Kerry along with his, and your, fellow miscreants on the left who need it for a mouthpiece? The only reason you and the Congress are after the radio air waves is that you have so defiled newsprint and television with progressivism both industries are dying a wretched, tormented death. You leeches need a new outlet. You have America on the warpath. Excellent. Way to go, Barry.

Americans have become nauseated with the torrent of illegals. Your personal brigand, Napolitano, seems to want to do everything in her power to assist the ILLEGALS in their march North, and at the same time to utilize every impediment she can find in her substantial arsenal to fight against LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. You are brilliant!

And bless your cold, sterile little heart, Soetoro. Your fellow countrymen, whoops, sorry, my mistake, I mean the American people, want the US to be the best it can be, and not the second, or third tier state envisioned by you, Barry Soetoro. Education is the machinery to accomplish the heavy lifting. But you and the rest of the nauseating left in the Congress had the opportunity to help kids in Washington DC through the charter schools. Instead you choose to keep them uneducated, on the plantation, doomed to a life of poverty, beholden to the Democratic Party, without hope, without change. In failing those kids, you failed all of us. There is a thickening, oozing hatred and revulsion of everything you and your party stand for. Your kids aren’t in public school. People see your hypocrisy, and it is pure gold.

Oh, and the planned destruction of our health care system is going well. When the lid comes off, and everyone can see the stew we’re smelling, we will all gag. The cost may bankrupt us. Those of us who actually pay the bills, anyway. The old and the infirm will be allowed to die, untreated, unmedicated. The newborn will make it only if they’re strong enough, but then infanticide has always been your strong suit. Incredible. You make all my points for me.

So, you think by forcing the Israelis to give up the only weapons that have kept them safe, you will make the world safer? For whom? For your fellow Muslims, of course. You thought the Holocaust got ugly. Just wait, it’s 100 to 1 over there. Not good, Soetoro, but it certainly enhances your beastly image. Planning to re-start the Somali immigration program, which was fraught with fraud from the beginning. Perfect. We already have the FBI looking for members of their terrorist cells. Moo goo gai pan for two: twenty dollars. The idea that Al Qaida trained terrorists, the Chinese Uighurs, will soon be serving it up someplace in Denver, or Atlanta, or Stockton, or maybe Washington DC : priceless.

Just when it was getting good, it gets better. Your new Democratic pedophilia protection act is a gem. Picture this, Soetoro: one of Pelosi’s grandsons, Sean or Paul Michael, comes running past the servants, into her vast San Francisco mansion, screaming “Granny, that bad man in the park just diddled me,” as he holds his little bleeding bum. And she would, with her perpetual plastic smile, turn to him and say “No, no dear, we must not violate my beloved Hate Crimes Act. Granny loves all people, dear, other than conservatives, of course. That’s just one of our precious pedophiles showing us he loves you.” Wouldn’t that be just too juicy? Please sign Pelosi’s act if it comes across your desk. Please. This is why so many people loathe liberals and liberalism.

This is another reason I think you’re terrific, Soetoro. You are so good at Charades. I’d want you on my team. That whole name/citizenship thing. The entire world, and we’re talking the heads of government, know you to be Barry Soetoro, citizen, not of the world, but of Indonesia. The governments and intelligence services of Canada, England, Russia, France, Germany, Iran, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, and China all have to know by now, and surely most of the rest have been given a heads up. Netanyahu and Mossad most certainly know. They are all playing along with this charade to see how long it takes for America to figure it out.

Without you, Barry Soetoro, bringing us all of this evil, America would have continued to be the apathetic, arrogant bunch of *******s you told us, and the rest of the world, that we are. But, it turns out, we are energetic. We are patriotic. We love our Constitution, and our country. We love our America.

By God, and no other, we will succeed in getting America back, wresting it away from the scum who seem to think it is only theirs, and the rest of us are nothing but dirt beneath their nails.

We will get America back from the inept and crooked politicians, starting at the top, down through the congress, and wherever else corruption and misdeeds are the status quo, by way of the courts and the ballot box, and the hope and change we expected will take place, no matter how long it takes. And there will be Congressional term limits. Thank you Barry. I can almost see it. It looks good.

I appreciate all you have done, Barry Soetoro, you have opened our eyes to all the evil there is in the United States. But it isn’t where you said it was. You have unwittingly paved the path for us to get back the America we once knew, the one you have never known. We will stand with our real friends, and against our real enemies, here at home, and abroad. And no President will ever again go overseas to denigrate us, nor bow deep and low, to the complete embarrassment of his country, kissing the ring of a “bilious old nabob” nor any other self-important “king”. Thank you for all you have done for America.

You have re-ignited the fire smoldering deep within us. We truly do love this country. After the fall, when you, and the others complicit in your conspiracy, are languishing in a jail somewhere, you’ll have plenty of time to think about the positive influence you had on all of us. Thank you Barry Soetoro.

Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

If this does not serve as a wake-up call, I don’t really know what ever will … Thank God in Heaven our second amendment rights have been recently reaffirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. I am reminded of comments made by Norman Thomas, the Presidental candidate of the Socialist Party of America in the 40’s – 60’s … He stated “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” Admin

Gun sales are up!

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

It’s been a week and a half since Barack Obama was elected president. He won’t take office for another two months. But he’s already got one big group of Americans on their feet.

What is Barack Obama’s position on the right to bear arms? Sen. Obama’s campaign Web site says he “respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms.” It promises he will “protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport and use guns.”

Seeking to reassure gun owners, Mr. Obama told a campaign audience in Ohio in October: “I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away.”

But the crowds mobbing America’s gun stores this week say a large number of Americans — including first-time gun buyers — don’t believe him.

In 2003, while serving in the Illinois Legislature, Mr. Obama voted in favor of a bill in the Judiciary Committee that would have made it illegal to “knowingly manufacture, deliver or possess” so-called “semi-automatic assault weapons,” reports Chris Cox, chief lobbyist for the National Rifle Association. “Under this bill, a firearm did not actually have to be semi-automatic to be banned. According to definitions in the bill, all single-shot and double-barreled shotguns 28-gauge or larger, and many semi-automatic shotguns of the same size, would be banned as ‘assault weapons.’ ”

In an April television debate, Mr. Obama argued someone else on his staff improperly filled out a 1996 questionnaire stating support for a ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns — even after ABC News’ Charlie Gibson told Mr. Obama, “Your writing was on the questionnaire.”

And the National Shooting Sports Foundation sent out mailers last month warning that — while in the U.S. Senate — Mr. Obama voted for versions of a measure that could have bankrupted gun manufacturers by allowing them to be sued for misuse of their products (“equivalent to holding car makers responsible for drunk driving”), as well as for a 500 percent tax increase on guns and ammo and a ban on virtually all deer-hunting ammunition.

Americans aren’t waiting to see which Barack Obama takes office in January. They’re voting with their feet — and their billfolds.

Glen Parshall of Bargain Pawn in North Las Vegas reported Wednesday that sales are “through the roof. I can’t get anything. I mean handguns, rifles, ammo, you name it. Ammo’s doubled in (wholesale) price in the past week if you can find it. I had a line of people waiting for me this morning when I showed up for work, waiting to buy AR-15s. Everybody’s fearful of the messiah, very, very much fearful. …

“In October, before this all started, my sales were approximately double what they were last October. This week it’s up more than that, and it’d be a hell of a lot higher if I had anything. People are looking for handguns, looking for rifles, looking for magazines.”

DeWayne Irwin, owner of Cheaper Than Dirt, a large gun store in Fort Worth, Texas, tells the Chicago Tribune, “People are terrified of losing their right to protect themselves. The volume is 10 times what we ever expected. It started with assault rifles, but at this point, people are buying ammunition, high-capacity magazines, Glocks — it’s all flying off the shelf.”

What we’re seeing in the gun stores this week is not a nation arming itself for revolt, but Americans in a thoroughly defensive mode, stocking up now to avoid the Democratic gun bans they believe are coming. What many Americans fear is that Barack Obama — aided by congressional allies such as Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California and Charles Schumer of New York — will revert to his true, pre-campaign nature come Jan. 20, and once more move to take away Americans’ guns.

After all, Democrats have tried before. In fact, a notable public figure attributed the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994 to the fact that Democrats had tried to take away Americans’ guns.

Who was that insightful analyst?

Bill Clinton.

Obama showing his anti-second amendment colors

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

So why would the application for employment that is being utilized by the Obama administration contain the following question?

Question 59: Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage?

This is obviously an exclusionary question. Can’t run the risk of hiring any “subversives” … The alarming message here is that the Obama camp obviously takes it for granted that registration is mandatory … A window into the future?
